Ordering, Delivery & Pricing Flint: FAQ
Thinking of ordering flint for your next project? Here’s everything you need to know about lead times, delivery areas, pricing, and how much flint you’ll actually need for the job.
Is each bag 1 tonne?
We sell by volume rather than by weight, as flint is a natural material and its weight can vary from batch to batch.
How much flint do I need per square metre of wall?
Around 130–170kg of whole or knapped flint per square metre. One of our bulk bags typically covers 6–8 square metres of walling. Of course, each project differs due to natural variations in the stone and differing construction methods.
How long is the lead time generally?
Lead time is typically up to three weeks. If you have special requirements, this may affect how long your order takes to reach you — just let us know and we’ll advise.
Do you offer samples before a bulk order?
Yes — you can order a half bulk bag as a sample before committing to a larger order.
Can I arrange collection?
Yes — for smaller orders of three bags or fewer, collection is available, provided you’re able to load the pallet into your vehicle.
Do you deliver outside Dorset? What’s your delivery area?
We deliver across the UK, EU, and USA — and beyond. If you’re outside this area, get in touch anyway; we’ve even shipped as far as Australia.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes! We regularly supply customers across mainland Europe, Ireland, the USA, and even as far as Australia.
Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?
Our prices are as listed on the website. We work hard to keep them among the most competitive in the country — you won’t find better pricing than ours!
